“A Gift from Goodwill: Patty Lockwood”

Dear Shaina,

I found your cassette Songs For The Inner Child at a Goodwill thrift store.  The title and the cover called to me so I spent the 50 cents willingly, not knowing what a gold mine I had discovered, not by chance, because it was much more than chance that I found it. Life changing, is all I can say.

I confronted the fact that I was hiding a hurt inner child for all my life just while listening to “How Could Anyone”.  My mother never wanted a third child, which I am, and I always knew it and was told so in the lack of nurturing and then when my mother died, it was the first thing my father told me after her funeral.

I cannot blame my mother. Her way, her life was not an easy one, her path difficult, but my own inner child needs to feel loved, wanted, so the work has begun in earnest. Thanks for singing your songs.  I plan on writing about them and linking your site on my blog today.
