“My 5 Year Old Moved to Tears”

Tonight I was singing (very averagely) Peace Be With You (from Songs For The Inner Child) to my nearly 5 year old son. He said:

” Don’t sing that song mummy.”  I ask him why not, and he tells me it makes him cry. I mention that it is a lovely song and question whether he knows he’s my dear one and my precious child, to which he responds “I know that”. Then I ask him again why he doesn’t want me to sing it and he repeats that it makes him cry because “it’s such a sweet song.”
